DONNA KAY YOUNG departed this world on April 28, 2021 and joined those family and friends already assembled around the throne of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Born on July 21, 1956 to Donald and Shirley Parker (both deceased) in San Antonio, Texas, she grew up in Arlington, Texas, graduating from Arlington High School and received an associates degree from Tarrant County Community College. Donna was a mother and a keeper of the home, devoted to raising her two sons and watching them grow into men of faith!
In 2005, Donna and her beloved husband, David, began serving as lay missionaries with the Hills Church in Sri Lanka following the tragic tsunami that devastated the island on December 26, 2004. Upon receiving God's call, Donna and David set aside their life in the United States to live among villagers there.While living in Sri Lanka, Donna directly served multiple families by teaching english to children in her home, as well as teaching at the village Montessori School. Upon returning home to Arlington, Texas in 2014, Donna continued to communicate with several village families by phone, email and letters throughout her remaining years.
Donna is known by her family and friends as a woman of prayer. She served on the Healing Station Prayer Team for several years at the Community Enrichment Center in North Richland Hills, praying for individuals participating in the food assistance programs. She also served on the Prayer team at the Hills Church and Restore Church in Arlington for several years after returning from Sri Lanka. She was active with many women's prayer and Bible Study groups throughout her life and hosted a group in her home for several years prior to becoming ill. She placed a Prayer Post in her front yard for neighbors and walkers to leave prayer request cards in a box.She prayed for more than 200 requests in three years, even up to the week of her death.
Donna is survived by her beloved husband of 18 years, David; sister, Patricia Taylor (Richard); son, Brandon Michael Lanier (Kara); son, Matthew Christian Lanier (Karisa); step-daughter, Shannon Ceballos (Rob); step-son, Aaron Young (Brooke); five grandchildren, Corban and Ivory Lanier, Sawyer Young, Maxxton and Miles Ceballos; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.
